VerifyHadith is designed as a hadith research and source-matching tool. It helps users compare entered text against available hadith records and review related metadata.
1. Source Matching
When a user enters Arabic or English text, VerifyHadith attempts to find the closest available source records from supported datasets. A Source Match or Text Match describes similarity between the entered text and available records. A high source match does not by itself mean that a hadith is authentic.
2. Reported Grades
When a grade such as Sahih, Hasan, Da'if, or Mawdu' appears, it should be understood as a reported grade from available source metadata or referenced databases. VerifyHadith does not independently issue authenticity grades.
3. Source Details
Source details may include collection name, hadith number, narrator information, reported grade, similar records, available references, and translation or Arabic text where available. This depends on what is available in the supported dataset.
4. Narrator & Source Summary
The Narrator & Source Summary panel may show basic narrator and collection metadata from the closest matched source record. It should not be understood as a complete isnad unless a full chain is explicitly provided.
5. Related Records
Related Records may show other records with similar wording, related references, or matching narrator/source metadata. These records are provided to help users compare variants and references.
6. Scholarly Notes
Scholarly Notes may show available source-based comments, reported gradings, or references when such data exists. VerifyHadith does not generate independent scholarly opinions. If no source-based scholarly notes are available, the section may show an empty state.
7. AI-Assisted Analysis
AI may assist with text matching, summarizing available metadata, explaining why a result may have matched, and helping users navigate source records. AI does not issue fatwas, certify hadith authenticity, or replace qualified scholars.
8. Limitations
Hadith data may differ across manuscripts, editions, numbering systems, publishers, translations, scholarly grading methodologies, databases, and source collections. Results should be used as research assistance, not as final authority.
9. Recommended Use
Use VerifyHadith to find possible source references, compare similar narrations, review available metadata, identify reported grades, and begin further research. Consult qualified scholars before relying on results for religious rulings, teaching, publication, formal study, or public claims.
